Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton Could Reunite Prince Harry and Prince William
Lowther-Pinkerton Could Reunite Harry and William

Prince William and Prince Harry have grown apart since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties. Reports indicate William wants little contact after Harry's criticisms in the Oprah Winfrey interview and his memoir Spare. However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes one man could help heal the rift: Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton.

Who Is Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton?

Lowther-Pinkerton served as equerry to the Queen Mother before working closely with William and Harry during their military careers. He also protected Harry after Princess Diana's death and helped Catherine, Princess of Wales, integrate into the Royal Family. Now living in Suffolk, he has remained discreet about the feud.

A Potential Mediator

Fitzwilliams told The Daily Mail: "So far he has chosen to be discreet and avoid involvement in the feud which continues to bedevil the monarchy. Yet if a mediator were to be wanted by them both, it would undoubtedly be him." However, he noted a potential obstacle: Lowther-Pinkerton had little interaction with Meghan Markle, as his service predated her entry into the family. Fitzwilliams questioned, "If one day his services were called on, would she trust him and would he trust her? As yet, we don't know."

Harry's Upcoming UK Visit

Harry is expected to visit the UK soon but is not believed to be meeting William. Buckingham Palace confirmed Harry will not stay at the palace during his visit, despite his team's earlier announcement that he had accepted an invitation. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond commented to The Mirror: "William must surely have been paying attention to the row over Harry's security... I would have thought it was one area in which he might have a measure of sympathy for his brother." She added that William likely would not get involved in the security decision.
