A new portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales has been released to mark the Nigerian state banquet at Windsor Castle. The image, taken by British-Nigerian photographer Christianah Ebenezer, shows Catherine in a green Andrew Gn gown and the Lover's Knot Tiara, a piece famously worn by Princess Diana.
The princess also wore diamond earrings belonging to the late Queen Elizabeth II, along with the Royal Family Order of King Charles III and the GCVO Sash and Star. The backdrop features flowers and foliage, reflecting Catherine's emphasis on nature's healing role in her recovery from cancer.
Prince William is dressed in white tie and Windsor tail coat, with the Order of the Garter sash and miniature medals including the Order of the Bath and jubilee medals. Kensington Palace described the portrait as 'fabulous' and noted it was the couple's first collaboration with Ebenezer, who previously photographed the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Ebenezer, born in Lagos and raised in London, said: 'It was a true honour to collaborate on this piece. Blending our shared creativity with elements of classic portraiture and nature, the team worked seamlessly to capture this moment.' She has been named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Arts and Culture Leader and a British Fashion Council New Wave Creative.
The state visit included a banquet attended by King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals, with Catherine seated next to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The two-day visit concluded with a formal farewell on Thursday.
