Kaleb Cooper, the star of Clarkson's Farm, has broken his silence about his close friend Jeremy Clarkson's recent cancer diagnosis. The former Top Gear presenter revealed he has been battling prostate cancer in the latest episode of the Amazon Prime series.
Kaleb Speaks Exclusively to Daily Star
In an exclusive interview with Daily Star's Edward Easton, Kaleb said: "I think the show does a great job at highlighting every issue around and that's one thing, it's because it's real. We never ever go out there and go: 'Right, our plan is to do this, in front of the camera, do this,' we don't do that. That's not how we do it."
He added: "With every issue that pops up it happens naturally. We don't want these things to happen. Whether that be Jeremy being poorly, Gerald being poorly, the cows getting TB, we don't want that to happen but a good thing about it is that we get to highlight it to millions of people round the world, maybe check yourself at home."
Turning Problems into Positives
Kaleb explained that the challenges faced by the cast can be turned into a positive, as they always aim to shift the narrative and improve the outlook. He described Jeremy as a "best mate" and noted that despite their frequent arguments, they quickly set aside their differences. "When all the problems happened and he was poorly, I'll be by your side every single minute. I'll still be there, that's who I am. He's a best mate. As far as I can say, he's in good spirits. The good thing is that's his spirit."
Kaleb's Rise to Fame
Kaleb became a household name when he joined Clarkson's Farm in 2021. He admitted he is still not used to the fame: "I mean let's face it, it's totally bonkers! I never, ever thought I'd be where I am today. You know, if I said to my mum 10 years ago: 'I might be on TV one day,' mum would be like: 'Nah!' I was never that kid."
Reflecting on his journey, he said: "Even when the show decided to start filming I was always like: 'Can I do the farming behind it?' I ended up doing the farming in front of the camera. It's very strange in a way, at the same time I think life is a rollercoaster. You've got to jump on that rollercoaster. As you're on that rollercoaster, you go: 'Right, what's the obstacle?' Obviously for me that was TV, hit the TV obstacle and I go: 'Right, what do I wanna do? Do I wanna stop there or do I wanna go round it, then through it?' That's what I did and here we are."
