An insider has revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a “step-by-step” plan for their future in the UK, with the family expected to relocate to Britain within days. Last week, it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would move back to the UK before the end of August with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. Reports indicate the children have already been enrolled in British schools, and the family has found a home outside London, a non-royal residence, as Harry and Meghan will not return as working royals.
Extended Stay and Long-Term Plans
It is believed the family will initially live in Britain for an “extended period” of time. However, an insider has disclosed that while the family will keep their home in Montecito, California, the ultimate goal is to fully base themselves in Prince Harry’s home country. The insider told People magazine: “Step by step, they want to be in the U.K. They want to have the time and give the kids the opportunity to be here.”
Shockwaves and Past Criticism
The announcement of the move back to Britain sent shockwaves around the world last week, as Harry and Meghan had left life in the country behind in 2020 when they quit royal duty. Since then, the duke and duchess have not held back from criticising life in the UK, with Harry even saying last year that he felt the UK was too unsafe to bring his wife and children back to.
Recent Visit and Family Ties
He did, however, bring them back last month, with many believing this trip allowed the family to look at future homes in the country. It also allowed Archie and Lilibet to spend time with their grandfather, King Charles, whom they had not previously seen since 2022. The exact date the family will relocate to Britain has not been confirmed; however, it is believed to be within the next week. It has also not been confirmed where the family will be living due to security concerns.
