Inside Valtteri Bottas' home with F1 car in living room

Valtteri Bottas has a real Formula One car in his living room, as revealed in a rare behind-the-scenes interview at his home. The Finnish driver, who has twice finished as runner-up in the Drivers' Championship, allowed YouTuber Average Rob into his house to show how he lives his everyday life.

A Gift From Williams

During the tour, the camera crew discovered the car as the centrepiece of the living room. Bottas explained: "I got this car as a gift from Williams after 2014 because this house was built in 2014 and at the same time as building it, we had the car put here and built the car around it."

He confirmed he had driven the car, saying: "Yes [I drove it]. It was the car I had my podium, Austria 2014." The 37-year-old also showed off his trophies, picking out a plate from Australia as his favourite.

Helmets and Messages

The room also contained a collection of helmets from his time as a driver, some with messages from former drivers and team-mates. One from Lewis Hamilton read: "My friend, the greatest team-mate ever."

Elsewhere, the tour explored Bottas' backyard, which overlooked a lake in Finland and included an outdoor fire pit and a sauna. On the importance of saunas, he said: "Honestly, if you go to a Finnish sauna, everyone is quiet. Normally you don't really talk. Thinking about what happened today. What was good, what was bad."

The Bottas Burger

The crew also visited a local grill, where they were introduced to the 'Bottas Burger', named after the joint used to sponsor Bottas during his early days as a driver. He said: "The beef burger is key here. It's like proper quality."
