Princess Eugenie has marked her son Ernest's third birthday with a heartwarming social media post, sharing a series of unseen photographs of the young royal. The images show Eugenie planting a kiss on her son's cheek, Ernie kicking a football, and holding hands with an older boy believed to be his brother August, five.
In the accompanying caption, Eugenie described Ernie as her 'tiger loving, hat wearing, constantly hugging, fearless golden boy', adding that he 'lights up every room' with his 'deep voice and infectious smile'. The post attracted hundreds of birthday wishes from well-wishers.
Notably, there was no mention of Eugenie's parents, the Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, in the post. This comes amid reports that Eugenie and her sister Beatrice have been distancing themselves from their father following his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.
The birthday post also follows the announcement earlier this month that Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their third child, due this summer. The King has been informed and is said to be delighted by the news.
