Former The Traitors favourite Olivia Deane has spoken exclusively about her time on the hit BBC show, sharing her one major regret and explaining why the ongoing fourth series is the toughest instalment yet.
Life After The Traitors Castle
Since appearing on the third series of the psychological reality competition, Olivia's life has transformed. The single mother, whose son has just turned three, says the opportunities have been "unforgettable". She particularly values being able to share experiences with her family and friends, making her busy lifestyle all the more rewarding.
Olivia was a Faithful in the third series and was murdered in the sixth episode. That season was ultimately won by fellow Faithfuls Jake Brown and Leanne Quigley.
The Intensity of the Game and Lasting Friendships
Reflecting on the experience, Olivia revealed her biggest surprise was how all-consuming the game becomes. "The moment you step into that castle you are genuinely living The Traitors," she said. The need for constant vigilance created an incredibly tense atmosphere that felt like real life.
Despite the pressure, a wonderful surprise was forging lifelong friendships with other contestants. She remains in daily contact with many through a castle group chat and smaller chats, and they meet up when possible.
Olivia's Biggest Regret From the Show
When asked what she would change, Olivia was unequivocal: her targeting of fellow contestant Freddie. "I do wish I just didn't suspect or at least wasn't so vocal with my suspicions with Freddie because he was one of the Faithfuls," she admitted.
She now understands the public's difficulty in spotting the secret traitor in the new series, acknowledging how hard it is to identify deception while under constant camera surveillance in the Scottish castle. She describes Freddie as "like my little brother" and is proud of all he has achieved.
Why Series 4 Is the 'Hardest Yet'
Olivia believes the current fourth series presents a unique challenge. The format's evolution and the players' heightened strategies have created a more complex game. Watching as a fan now, she appreciates the intense pressure the new contestants are under, making this run the most difficult for participants so far.
While she cherishes her time on the show, Olivia misses the thrilling missions, the dedicated production team, and the exceptional views of the Scottish Highlands. Now a leading motivational speaker represented by the Champions Speakers Agency, she remains grateful for the wholesome experience and the incredible opportunities it sparked.
