Traitors fans predict Hannah Fry exit after 'obvious mistake'

BBC viewers are convinced one Celebrity Traitors contestant is "a goner" after identifying a major error in the latest episode of the gameshow. Presenter Claudia Winkleman introduced 21 famous faces into the ultimate game of deception last week, and three stars have already been eliminated from the castle.

The first casualty was journalist Amol Rajan, who was murdered by Traitors Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant. Richard's own journey on the programme was abruptly terminated during the series' very first roundtable vote. He was banished following an almost unanimous vote, with his departure largely down to his own doing.

Richard's fatal slip

The veteran actor committed a catastrophic error when he disclosed to a room packed with Faithfuls that he was in fact a Traitor, moments after his selection. His fellow contestants struggled to determine whether the confession was a genuine slip-up or part of a bigger game plan, but they couldn't overlook it when casting their banishment votes.

Within hours, American actress Myha'la was banished after the remaining players grew suspicious of her association with Richard, reports Wales Online.

Recruitment controversy

Having lost a fellow Traitor, Maya and comedian James Acaster were forced to recruit fresh blood - and viewers believe they made the wrong choice. The pair selected Professor Hannah Fry to join the dark side because "she's a professor".

The mathematician accepted the invitation to join the villains, but viewers watching at home believe her promotion will lead to her downfall. Viewers reckon Hannah was the most obvious choice for recruitment to the Traitors, given she is one of their biggest threats, meaning fellow Faithfuls will be monitoring her closely.

Viewer backlash

They've also highlighted that suspicions surrounding Hannah will only intensify when she repeatedly avoids being murdered, since the Traitors would surely want her eliminated if she were a Faithful. Taking to X, one viewer remarked: "Recruiting Hannah was such an obvious mistake; she's never going to be able to explain her continued state of not having been murdered. Had they recruited anyone else she would still be under suspicion for, you guessed it, not being murdered. #CelebrityTraitors".

Another concurred, writing: "#celebritytraitors Hannah was probably the worst one to recruit as there was already heat on her. Should have recruited someone more in the background or one of the actors - Hannah looked suspicious at breakfast and will be out very soon. Traitors not tactical."

A third viewer commented: "I think they made a mistake recruiting Hannah! #CelebrityTraitors," while a fourth forecast: "justice for hannah shes 10000% a goner #celebritytraitors."

However, others believe Maya and James executed the correct strategy, with one supporter noting: "nope. she was one of their biggest threats, and now she's a threat to the other faithfuls." The Celebrity Traitors season 2 is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
