Celebrity Traitors viewers have been left heartbroken after the latest episode, with fears rising that singer James Blunt could be wrongly banished after sealing his own fate.
Claudia Winkleman welcomed 21 famous faces to the Scottish castle earlier this month, including Ross Kemp, Bella Ramsey and Michael Sheen. History was made when actor Richard E Grant became the first ever Traitor to be banished during the first round table, and the latest instalment saw Faithful Julie Hesmondhalgh saying her goodbyes.
James Blunt under scrutiny after Julie's banishment
Some viewers are convinced James Blunt could come under scrutiny at the next roundtable after he raised concerns over Julie, who turned out to be Faithful. After Julie's banishment, Miranda admitted she was "so angry" she wrote Julie's name, as James admitted: "I'm so sorry, and that's my fault."
Suspicions around James grew as Sharon said he had been "stirring the pot" with his theories, adding: "He's been wrong with every single theory he's come up with." Speaking to cameras, James admitted there was a target on his head after leading the "charge against someone who was our own," confessing he felt "so stupid."
Viewers react with sympathy
On X, many viewers raised concerns. One person said: "Sounds like James Blunt had a really big impact on the round table, bigger than the edit gave him credit for. Would’ve liked to see his full orchestration." Another admitted: "Poor bloke hearing everyone being p***** off at him and going to sit all by himself after. I feel for him."
A third wrote: "Yeah I feel sorry for him too, I don’t want everyone ganging up on him. They should take accountability for their own actions." A fourth added: "My heart broke for James Blunt at the end lol Definitely had that feeling of going into the lunch hall with people talking s*** about you and then sitting by yourself."
A fifth replied: "My daughter actually cried! She just felt so bad for him when he went in the doorway and then just left and sat on his own." A sixth admitted it could have been the "editing," predicting: "Most of the time when you see a Faithful do that they are gone within the next couple of episodes."
Predictions for the next banishment
One Reddit user said they had "never wanted to hug someone more," as another penned: "I thought Hannah had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory when she jumped in to defend Julie. Interesting tactic."
Over on X, one person predicted the next person to be banished could in fact be James rather than Hannah, despite high suspicions, adding: "watch them banish James Blunt next instead of Hannah at this point lmao." Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday, October 15.
