MAFS Australia Retreat Drama: Bec and Rachel Clash Over 'Vulgar' Comment

Married At First Sight Australia's Bec Zacharia and Rachel Gilmore had a heated confrontation at the couple's retreat after Bec made a crude joke about Rachel's intimacy with husband Steven. The row erupted on the first night when Bec, during a toast, referenced a 'fumble' using a phrase that was bleeped out on TV but reportedly included the words 'f**ger b*nged'.

Rachel, who had bravely shared that she and Steven had taken their intimacy to a new level, was left 'incredibly hurt' by Bec's comments. She told producers: 'I didn't think it was funny. She turned something that Steven and I were so excited about into a joke.'

When prompted to apologise, Bec said: 'Ah Rach I'm so sorry, I apologise. It was meant to be a bit of fun.' However, Rachel rejected the apology, stating: 'Well it’s not funny. I shared with you guys openly that we took intimacy to a new level, which is really important for Steven and I, and you just made a joke of it.'

Bec then defended herself, referencing her own marriage struggles with husband Danny Hewitt: 'It's not a joke, darling. We all celebrate you and your wins. You're very very quick to turn. I was not meant with malice at all.'

After the argument escalated, Rachel told the group: 'I'm done with tonight, thanks guys, have a good night,' before walking away. Speaking to camera, she added: 'In that moment she could have come to me and said, I'm really sorry, but instead she wanted to turn around and make a fight out of it.'

The fallout continues as the retreat progresses, with tensions remaining high between the two brides.
