Love Is Blind Divorce: Court Docs Reveal 'Insupportable' Marriage Led to Split
Love Is Blind Divorce: Court Docs Reveal Split Reason

The real reason behind the shock divorce of Love Is Blind stars Brennon and Alexa Lemieux has been laid bare in newly revealed court documents, moving beyond their public statement about a 'difficult decision'.

The Legal Grounds for the Split

Official records show that Brennon Lemieux initiated divorce proceedings on November 5, nearly a full month before the couple announced their separation to fans on December 3. The petition, obtained by PEOPLE magazine, states the central reason for the split: "the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities".

The legal filing elaborates that this discord "destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation". Brennon also requested in the documents to retain any assets he owned prior to their marriage.

Navigating Divorce as Co-Parents

Despite the breakdown of their romantic relationship, both parties have emphasised their commitment to their 17-month-old daughter, Vienna. The court filings note that the couple intend to reach a written agreement outside of court regarding custody of their child and the division of their community property.

Alexa addressed the split directly with followers on Instagram, writing: "After much reflection and many heartfelt conversations, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage." She added that they remain "devoted to our daughter" and committed to navigating the transition with compassion.

From Screen Romance to Family Life

Brennon and Alexa first met and got engaged on the third season of the hit Netflix reality series, marrying on camera in June 2021. They welcomed their daughter in July 2024 after Alexa underwent a challenging journey to conceive, involving fertility treatments and significant lifestyle changes.

In interviews during 2024, both credited Love Is Blind for bringing them together, with Alexa stating they likely would not have met otherwise. Ironically, before their separation, they had shared hopes of renewing their vows on their fifth anniversary and expanding their family.

The divorce petition marks a stark contrast to those earlier family plans, yet both have made it clear that their priority is ensuring an amicable process focused on the wellbeing of their young daughter.
