Four in a Bed fans furious as episodes vanish from Channel 4

Four in a Bed viewers have voiced frustration after a week's episodes, including the payment day finale, became unavailable on Channel 4's catch-up service. The programme, which first aired in 2010, sees four teams of B&B hotel owners stay at and rate each other’s properties. After a night at each of their competitors’ places, a final payment day episode sees them together again to crown a winner after providing feedback.

Episodes pulled from streaming

Last week, commencing on Monday 5 October, featured new instalments of Four in a Bed, with Estelle and Steve initially welcoming their competitors to their guesthouse in Torquay. Jan and Deb subsequently invited the B&B owners to their Somerset pub, while Donna and Mike played host in Pembrokeshire before ultimately, the participants visited Henry and Lucy's pub in North Wales.

Those instalments, together with the week's concluding episode featuring payment day, are currently unavailable to view on Channel 4's online streaming platform. The description for Friday's episode states: "The new run continues. A jaw-dropping payment is the talk of the town on payment day, prompting some rather heated debate," reports the Mirror.

Channel 4 responds to complaints

Audiences were left bewildered upon discovering the episode had been removed from availability, with Channel 4 responding to several comments on X with a statement which read: "We just wanted to let you know that the episodes from last weeks #FourInABed are now unavailable, but we are excited that a new week starts this afternoon on #Channel4 at 5pm!" The Express has contacted Channel 4 for comment.

Fans expressed outrage, with one individual posting: "Removing payment day Four in a Bed when viewers have watched all week is a disgrace. If it's not suitable to air then don't air Mon to Thurs. Why bother watching and supporting the show when you could do the same again?"

Another questioned: "Channel 4 can I asked why you have taken this week's Four in a Bed off catch-up and streaming?" A third posted: "Channel 4 where the hell has the payment day episode of #FourInABed gone? ? ? ? ? I recorded it but it's not showing anywhere! ! ! This is unacceptable!"

A further user commented: "Why TF is this week's run of #FourInABed gone from #Channel4? ? ! Isn't it lucky I record them. Must be an absolute s***show." Yet another viewer labelled the development "annoying" while someone else described it as "frustrating". Over on Reddit, one also remarked: "This is absurd. I've see Monday to Thursday on demand - I want to see payment day!"

Viewers share frustration

Another viewer wrote: "So disappointing I was looking forward to the drama!" while another fumed: "What's the point of watching now?" They continued: "It's meant to be light-hearted fun. But if you invest the time to watch all week, then they won't show you the finale - what's the point? And what should we do, wait until all episodes are out before watching?"

One person commented: "Yeah I'm pretty annoyed that it was pulled. I waited all week to see payment day and then it just didn't air," with another adding: "I've just sat down the watch it and that whole weeks worth is gone! So annoyed ."

This comes after viewers voiced their fury earlier this month over the Channel 4 show format, as only one team could be crowned winners despite receiving equal payment percentages. When the competition recently aired new episodes, one person fumed: "#fourinabed it's ridiculous that there wasn't two winners. They both got 100%. Disgraceful." Another said: "Since when has that been a thing, are they cutting down plaque costs." "Why have they stopped sharing the first prize. Don’t like this new system," another said. Someone else meanwhile said: "The prices on #FourInABed these days are a joke." Yet another said: "Should've been joint winners as they both got 100%. Game players, underpaid everybody." Someone else agreed, writing: So weird. They used to do joint winners before...
