Fans slam 'obvious' Traitors decision after Richard E. Grant exit

Celebrity Traitors fans have voiced their frustration over the latest episode, which saw the Traitors make a decision they described as too obvious. The show returned on Thursday night (Oct 8) after last week's Round Table left a nail-biting cliffhanger.

Richard E. Grant found himself in deep water as suspicions turned to him. The 69-year-old actor made a blunder in the opening episode when he accidentally revealed his Traitor status to the rest of the cast just minutes after being chosen by Claudia Winkleman. In a show first, Joe Lycett asked Richard if he was a Faithful or a Traitor and the Saltburn star replied: "Traitor."

Richard E. Grant banished

He failed to cover up his mistake and convince his co-stars, ultimately signing his own death warrant. As bookies and fans predicted, Richard was the first celebrity to be banished from the Round Table on Thursday night as the Faithful caught the first Traitor.

Richard also took Myha'la Herrold down with him as she made herself look guilty after defending him and then turning her back on him at the last minute. Both stars were banished after journalist Amol Rajan was the first celeb to be murdered by the Traitors last week.

Traitors recruit Hannah Fry

Richard leaves behind his fellow Traitors, Maya Jama and James Acaster, bringing the team down to just two. His exit meant the Traitors were given the option to either murder or recruit and they chose the latter.

Professor Hannah Fry and Jerry Hall were the only stars up for murder yesterday due to not completing last week's challenge, but their lives were spared when Maya and James decided to recruit Hannah into their tower instead. Fans are not convinced she will last long.

Many viewers took to social media to complain the decision was too obvious and that the Traitors are making all the wrong decisions. One wrote: "These Traitors are so stupid, Hannah is so obvious James Blunt was already suspicious of her."

A second added: "Why would Hannah do this... obviously since they banished a traitor they know they recruited one of you." A third chimed in: "Yeah. As much as I love The Traitors, I will not continue to watch #CelebrityTraitorsUK. They were so obvious with it. It's infuriating. Already read the same thing happened in S2."

A fourth agreed: "I'm afraid my respect for the traitors is dwindling because why would you recruit Hannah everyone’s gonna suspect it was her, Miranda would have been the most obscure pick." Yet another complained: "Wrong move recruiting Hannah. Could have murdered Jerry, Hannah would have had heat, saving you 2 episodes with no suspicion, then recruit when you feel you had to. Hannah is too obvious a recruit, you have to recruit people under the radar."

BBC Celebrity Traitors returns tonight on Friday, Oct 9 at 8pm.
