Amazon's Prime Video is launching a bold new reality competition series set in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout, giving superfans a chance to live like a vault-dweller for real.
Enter the Vault: A New Reality Competition
The streaming service has officially greenlit 'Fallout Shelter', a ten-episode series that will see contestants move into a Vault-Tec vault. There, they will live together and face a series of challenges designed to test the core attributes from the beloved game series: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck.
According to a synopsis, the show will delve into more than just physical and mental trials. "The series will not only test dwellers’ core attributes, but also their loyalty and alliances," it teases. "It’s a game of power dynamics, popularity and social strategy which will ultimately result in a huge cash prize." The exact amount of the prize money is being kept secret for now.
Casting Call and Production Details
A casting call for the ambitious project is now live, with a closing date for applications set for 15 February 2026. Hopeful participants must be aged over 21 and able to legally travel to both the UK and the US for promotional work.
The online application form asks prospective vault-dwellers to detail their character flaws, share interesting facts about themselves, rate their charisma, and declare their fandom for the Fallout franchise. Filming is scheduled to take place over three weeks in June this year.
The series will be produced by Studio Lambert – the company behind hits like The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge – in co-production with Kilter Films. It is made in association with Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Game Studios. Upon completion, the show will stream exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries.
Riding the Fallout Wave
The announcement capitalises on the immense success of the live-action Fallout TV series, starring Ella Purnell and Walter Goggins, which is currently streaming its second season on the platform. The reality show draws direct inspiration from both the TV drama and the original video games.
News of the show has sparked a mixed reaction from the Fallout community online. One fan quipped, "Feels like 'make the vault experiments real' is the exact opposite of the main message of the series," while another mused, "Get voted out of the Vault and experience the wasteland." A third simply stated, "Fallout Jersey Shore was not what I was expecting today."
No official release date for Fallout Shelter has been announced yet.
