EastEnders fans predict Kat Moon will cheat on Alfie with Ned

EastEnders fans are convinced that Kat Moon will cheat on Alfie following her encounter with newcomer Ned Hawkins, as her grief over Zoe Slater's death spirals out of control.

Kat (Jessie Wallace) has been struggling to cope since her daughter Zoe (Michelle Ryan) died suddenly after sustaining a head wound while trying to steal her grandfather's taxi cab. After waking in the middle of the night, Kat instinctively checked on her daughter only to find her dead on her bed. Completely stunned, Kat covered her daughter's corpse in blankets in an attempt to warm her up and wake her.

Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) eventually entered Zoe's room and found her dead before alerting the rest of the family and emergency services. Kat has since been consumed with grief, spending much of the last month lying in Zoe's bed, refusing to get out of her pajamas, and turning to heavy drinking.

Kat's behaviour spirals in Walford

On Wednesday (October 14), Kat's despair continued as she sat alone in the Square Gardens, haunted by reminders of her loss. In one scene, Kat took a bottle of alcohol from the barrel store and stumbled into the market, knocking into Ned Hawkins (Jamie Bamber), who looked suspicious as he watched her walk away.

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) found her in a drunken state and guided her back to his house, where she frantically raided his cupboards for booze and dished out insults before returning to The Vic. There, she boldly announced that all drinks for the remainder of the evening were on the house.

Sat beside a group of rowdy lads, she continued to spout insults at Alfie and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and wished death upon her granddaughter, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness). Kat then guided a man into the women's toilets before insulting Alfie's character and clothing, knowing he was in the cubicle unblocking the toilet.

Fans fear Ned's influence on Kat

Minutes later, she accidentally knocked her son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to the floor as the teenager showed concern for his mum. Kat's antics were too much for a furious Alfie, and the episode ended with her goading him on. He slammed the door behind him, screamed "Right, enough is enough", and demanded they sort her behaviour out in that moment.

As Kat's overwhelming grief spins out of control, EastEnders fans are convinced she will cheat on Alfie following her earlier encounter with ruthless newcomer Ned, who is currently manipulating Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple). Ned has also blackmailed his sister-in-law Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) into buying shares of Harry's Barn, and orchestrated a violent attack on his own son, Ryder (Felix Uff).

Taking to X, one fan said: "This little moment between Ned and Kat outside the Vic. God, I'm scared. I hope Ned doesn't target Kat as well, the same way he tried to give therapy to Ian last week. Is this subtle foreshadowing of Ned and Kat being part of the revenge plot against Max on NYD? #EastEnders."

A second added: "I think Ned will either use Kat or Alfie to get the Vic. I still stand by my theory Ned using his therapy skills on Nicola". A third urged: "Oh no (hands over eyes), Ned, please stay away from hurricane Kat; we are begging you."

"Here we go again with Kat. Every time she goes through something, she has a meltdown and resorts to this. Get ready for her to cheat on Alfie for the millionth time. They break up and then Alfie being the mug that he is, tries to take her back", pointed out another.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer.
