Donna Kelce's Traitors Run Wows Sons Jason and Travis

The Kelce family's reality television debut has proven a roaring success, with matriarch Donna Kelce earning high praise from her famous NFL sons for her performance in the latest season of The Traitors.

A Secret Traitor's Short-Lived Game

At 73 years old, Donna Kelce became the oldest cast member in the fourth season of the popular NBC Peacock series. Her journey, however, was cut short when she was eliminated in the third episode. Her role was revealed as a 'Secret Traitor', a new twist in the game where she acted as covert support for the three primary traitors: reality TV veterans Rob Rausch from Love Island USA, Lisa Rinna from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Candiace Dillard Bassett from The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Proud Sons Praise a 'Devious' Mum

On their widely followed New Heights podcast, brothers Jason and Travis Kelce shared their glowing reviews of their mother's brief but memorable stint. Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles centre, admitted his surprise at Donna's cunning gameplay. "I thought she did fantastic," Jason stated. "I loved watching her in it. She was way more deceitful and devious than I thought Mom could ever be, which was surprising."

He also highlighted the challenge she faced as an outsider among established reality stars, calling her an "easy target" in the complex social manoeuvring of the show.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce focused on his mother's evident enjoyment and fortitude. "I was so proud of her, man," Travis said. "She looked like she was having a blast enjoying it all. It was just so cool to see her in this moment." He specifically commended her for standing her ground during the intense round table discussions.

Dream Fulfilled, Future Decisions Loom

Following her elimination, an emotional Donna Kelce reflected on the experience, calling it a "dream come true". She described her tears as "happy tears" and expressed sheer joy at being able to participate in the game at this stage in her life.

With Donna's television adventure concluded, attention now turns to her son Travis's professional future. The 36-year-old Chiefs player contemplated retirement after the 2023 season but opted to return for 2024. After a difficult campaign that ended without a playoff berth, speculation is once again mounting over whether the future Hall of Famer will choose to play on or hang up his cleats for good.
