Two episodes aired back-to-back on BBC One on Saturday (September 5), as hospital staff raced to save civilians following an explosion at St James'. Firefighters rushed to the scene for a major rescue operation, with ash filling the skies. Back at Holby City Hospital, Dylan Keogh (William Beck) took charge to lead the team as injured patients flooded the corridors.
Sophia's Death and Dylan's Grief
Sophia, who first joined the Emergency Department during a chaotic storm, initially clashed with Dylan due to his abrasive bedside manner. Their relationship progressed, and she later revealed she was pregnant, but decided to have an abortion while Dylan was held in police custody on a manslaughter charge. Due to their shared history, Dylan was left devastated by Sophia's death and struggled to continue leading his team.
Stevie Nash's Cliffhanger Recovery
The drama continued as Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) and Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) became trapped in an ambulance that fell off a cliff. Flynn managed to get Stevie out of the vehicle, but she had stopped breathing. She later recovered in the hospital, telling Flynn: "They do say life begins at 40," just before the credits rolled.
