The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have moved back to the UK with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for an extended period. Prince Harry has never stopped missing home, according to a royal insider.
The Duke of Sussex recently arrived back in the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. It is believed the family are moving back for "an extended period".
Family Settles Outside London
The family are believed to be staying in a private, nonroyal home outside London, with the children already enrolled in school and set to start classes in September. A source told PEOPLE that they are taking the move "step by step".
They added: "They want to have the time and give the kids the opportunity to be here".
Challenges Ahead
The couple have faced severe criticism since they stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US. Their settling back in the UK is unlikely to be smooth sailing, according to Queen Elizabeth's former press secretary Alisa Anderson.
She said: "I don't think they will be welcome back with open arms.
"They will have to rebuild the trust and affection with the family and the public".
Harry's Longing for Home
While Harry and Meghan have had their fair share of challenges with the British press and public, a source close to the duke claims that moving back to the UK is "something Harry has been thinking about for a while".
A source close to the couple added: "Harry never really stopped missing home. He's missed that sense of connection and belonging. Britain is still home in many ways."
Though the decision was taken as a family, with another source adding that "Meghan feels very fortunate that they're able to give Archie and Lilibet the opportunity to experience both worlds".
