Prince Harry has been accused of "clutching at straws" over his latest career move, which reportedly involves producing a television film dedicated to his late mother, Princess Diana.
The 41-year-old Duke is said to be planning the project and has already reached out to some of Diana's friends and associates. The update was revealed by Daily Mail Senior Editor-at-Large and royal reporter Richard Kay, who said the film will occupy a lot of Harry's headspace in the coming months.

"I am told that one of the reasons Harry's here is to make a television film, his own film, about his mother," Kay revealed. The news comes as the Royal Family prepares to mark the 30th anniversary of Diana's death next year. Harry was just 12 years old when his mother died in a car crash in Paris.
The Royal Family is reportedly set to host a special event in memory of Diana on her 30th anniversary, and it could be the time when William and Harry finally reunite after years of estrangement. However, Harry apparently has his own plans in the works to mark the anniversary.
"Let's not forget who Harry spent time with when he was here in July, it was Diana's family at Althorp," Kay added.
Criticism from royal commentators
The move has already attracted criticism. Journalist Peter Cadwell appeared on TalkTV to discuss the prospect of Harry producing such a film, calling it "clutching at straws" for Harry and saying there is somewhat of a "Diana fatigue."
"He still is clutching at straws, I think, to some extent, to always try to make him seem viable and relevant," he said. "And his mother defines him. And yes, she had a huge impact, but she wasn't the paragon of virtue that everybody paints her out to be."
Cadwell added that people will likely be queuing to see such a film, and that Harry "can see there will be some commercial value."
UK return sparks speculation
Harry and Meghan's return to the UK has sparked much speculation over how their relationship with the Royal Family will develop. While the couple and their children reunited with King Charles III and Queen Camilla during a visit to the UK earlier this year, the Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly have no intention of reconciling with the Sussexes.
