Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has allegedly been involved in another physical confrontation in New Orleans, according to recent reports. This incident reportedly occurred just over a month after the Transformers star was arrested for brawling in the city's historic French Quarter district.
Alleged Altercation at Le Bon Temps Roule
The latest alleged dispute is said to have taken place outside Le Bon Temps Roule, a popular New Orleans bar known for its vibrant live music scene. According to sources speaking to entertainment outlet TMZ, the incident occurred shortly before midnight on Monday.
Bar patrons claimed that LaBeouf, 39, removed his shirt during the confrontation just outside the establishment. Witnesses reported that a group of men arrived in a golf cart and confronted the actor about something he had allegedly done. The situation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, though police were not called to the scene according to those present.
Aftermath and Previous Incidents
Following the alleged fight, LaBeouf was said to have entered the bar to call someone to pick him up. Regular patrons of Le Bon Temps Roule told TMZ that while LaBeouf frequents the establishment and is typically well-behaved, this incident represented a departure from his usual conduct.
This latest report comes just weeks after LaBeouf's arrest on February 17 on two counts of misdemeanor battery following an alleged bar fight in the French Quarter. According to police reports, officers responded to R Bar on Royal Street around 12:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a man causing disturbances and becoming increasingly aggressive.
The police narrative indicated that a white male subject had been aggressive and struck multiple people inside the bar. Witnesses claimed LaBeouf became increasingly agitated at a business and was escorted out by staff, at which point he allegedly struck one man multiple times with closed fists. The situation reportedly escalated when LaBeouf returned and allegedly assaulted the same victim again before punching a second man in the nose.
Legal Proceedings and Travel Restrictions
LaBeouf was initially released on his own recognizance following the February arrest, but Judge Simone Levine later ordered him to pay a $100,000 bond after learning about alleged homophobic slurs the actor had used during the incident. The actor was arrested again in connection with the same incident on a misdemeanor simple battery charge, with his bond set at $5,000.
These legal issues nearly prevented LaBeouf from traveling to Italy earlier this month where his father was being baptized. His initial request for travel permission was denied by Judge Levine on February 26 because he failed to provide a travel itinerary. However, a second request made to magistrate Peter Hamilton was granted after the actor supplied the necessary documentation.
Recent Bizarre Behavior in Rome
The reports of another New Orleans altercation follow concerning behavior exhibited by LaBeouf during his time in Rome. The actor was captured in a disturbing video screaming expletives at a woman in public, though it remains unclear whether his outburst was specifically directed at her.
In another incident, LaBeouf was photographed shirtless wearing only black boxer briefs while begging for a light for his cigarette in a hotel lobby. Video footage showed him asking someone in the lobby, "Come on, bro, give me a f***ing match. You got a match?"
Personal Life and Recent Interview
LaBeouf's personal life has also been under scrutiny following the revelation of his separation from actress Mia Goth last year after nine years of marriage. The couple, who share a three-year-old daughter named Isabel, had previously filed for divorce in 2018 before reconciling.
Sources indicate that Goth wants LaBeouf to enter rehabilitation to address his alcohol use, with insiders claiming the actor's behavioral issues have been ongoing for years. Despite their separation, Goth reportedly maintains affection for her ex-husband and wants him to remain involved in their daughter's life.
In his first interview since the February brawl, LaBeouf made several controversial statements during an hour-long conversation with Andrew Callaghan of Channel 5. The actor claimed he felt "scared" when approached by three gay men on Fat Tuesday, stating bluntly, "Big gay people are scary to me."
Regarding the altercation itself, LaBeouf explained, "I was drunk and then I felt infringed upon in terms of my proximity. But I wasn't in my right mind, and so it's on me." He took accountability for reportedly using a gay slur during the incident, admitting, "I said words not ok to say. I don't want to hurt nobody's feelings... I'm wrong for what I did."
Reflecting on the end of his marriage, LaBeouf stated, "It's not new heartbreak. I don't want to talk too much about it. It's not my story alone to tell, but my side is I failed my marriage, so I had to own up to that."
The Daily Mail has reached out to LaBeouf's representatives for comment regarding the latest alleged incident but has not yet received a response.
