EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa has been left deeply shaken after receiving a series of sinister death threats on social media, prompting a police investigation.
Police Launch Investigation into Sinister Messages
Hertfordshire Police confirmed they received a report on Tuesday 16 December concerning threats made to a woman in Borehamwood. Detectives from Hertsmere CID are investigating the incident as a case of suspected malicious communication. A police statement confirmed that safeguarding advice has been provided to the victim, noting that the investigation remains in its early stages.
The actress, famed for playing Lauren Branning on the BBC One soap, was allegedly targeted with what have been described as "upsetting and terrifying" messages. A source close to the star revealed that the threats were serious enough to raise the alarm immediately, leading to action being taken.
Jossa 'Putting on a Brave Face' Amid Ordeal
Despite the distressing situation, the mother-of-two is said to be determined to continue with her professional commitments. Jossa, who shares daughters Mia and Ella with husband Dan Osborne, is reportedly receiving full support from EastEnders bosses.
"Jacqueline is putting on a brave face and continuing with her work commitments," the insider stated. "She is determined not to let this nasty incident ruin her Christmas and she is grateful to her EastEnders bosses for their support." The threats come just a couple of years after Jacqueline Jossa made a celebrated return to Walford in 2023. At the time of her comeback, she expressed her excitement, calling EastEnders her "dream job" and stating that Walford held a "special place in her heart."
