World-renowned DJ Solomun is preparing for what he describes as a "historic and magical" moment in his career with two highly anticipated shows at London's iconic Alexandra Palace. This double-header represents a crowning achievement in his long-running connection with the capital's vibrant nightlife.
A Natural High Point for a London Love Story
Fresh from another triumphant summer residency at the legendary Ibiza Pacha club, the Bosnian-German star is shifting his focus to the iconic north London venue. Solomun admits that playing at Ally Pally is a dream realised, calling it a "natural high point in my long-standing love affair with the city’s nightlife."
"I feel very grateful to be able to play two shows there," Solomun revealed. "It’s truly an iconic venue in London." The upcoming performances follow a hectic 2025 for the artist, which included standout sets at prestigious locations like the Old Royal Naval College, Chateau de Chantilly, and even a cinematic appearance at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
The Philosophy of Freedom and Fresh Sounds
Crediting his enduring success to creative liberty, Solomun insists that freedom is the key to his longevity. He constantly experiments with new tracks and directions to avoid repetition. This philosophy will be front and centre at Alexandra Palace, where he vows to bring his signature freedom of expression.
"Of course I will play lots of fresh unreleased tracks where I can’t wait to feel the reaction of the people," he teased. He also highlighted the appeal of a longer set, stating, "With a longer set, I have room to play with expectation, to stretch the journey, to let the night breathe. Surprises work best when they appear naturally."
Collaborations and Future Projects
Known for his massive remixes for artists like Lana Del Rey, Foals, Jamiroquai, and Pet Shop Boys, Solomun explained that collaborations often happen organically. "Sometimes an artist reaches out because they connect with my music," he said. "Other times, I find myself drawn to their world."
He expressed particular excitement about his recent studio work, confirming new collaborations. "I've been with the wonderful German singer INEZ from the band ÄTNA, whom I previously worked with on the track 'TukTuk'," Solomun shared. "I also worked on a track together with Skrillex, something I’m particularly grateful for and genuinely excited about."
Refusing to rule out a return to the mainstream, Solomun remains open to discovery. "For singers, I’m drawn to voices that carry a lot of emotion and space," he noted, adding that he enjoys exploring diverse genres from hip hop to folk.
As for the landmark Alexandra Palace shows, his commitment is simple yet powerful: "As always, all I can do is give my best and hope that it connects with people." For London's dance music enthusiasts, these nights are poised to be unforgettable chapters in the city's storied club culture.
