Sam Fender is being tipped to headline Glastonbury 2027, with bookmakers listing him as a joint favourite alongside Harry Styles. The North Shields musician, who recently broke a UK singles chart record, is priced at 6/4 to top the bill at Worthy Farm next year.
The People Watching singer last played Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage in 2022. The festival returns in 2027 after a fallow year this summer.
Chart record and Brit Awards success
Fender's latest single, Rein Me In, a duet with Olivia Dean, became the longest non-consecutive number 1 in UK chart history when it reached the top spot at the end of July, breaking a record that had stood for 73 years. At this year's Brit Awards, he won Rock Act and Song of the Year for the track.
All three of his albums — Hypersonic Missiles, Seventeen Going Under and People Watching — have debuted at number 1 in the charts. He won the Brits Critics Choice award at the start of 2019.
Odds and speculation
Oddschecker lists Fender and Harry Styles, who recently headlined a series of sold-out Wembley concerts, as joint 6/4 favourites for the Glastonbury 2027 headline slot. Oasis are priced at 2/1 amid speculation about a 2027 tour. Taylor Swift is also among the acts in the odds.
Fans are hoping for more shows at St James' Park, with speculation that Fender has outdoor gigs planned for 2027.
