This Morning viewers are calling for Christine Lampard to become a permanent presenter after she and Craig Doyle fronted the ITV show this week. The regular hosts, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, are currently on their summer break, leading to a rotation of famous faces presenting the programme.
Over the past few weeks, ITV fans have seen the likes of Andi Peters, Joel Dommett, Josie Gibson, Paddy McGuinness and Rylan Clark front the show. This week, Craig Doyle and Loose Women's Christine Lampard have presented together, which has gone down well with viewers.
Viewers share their support
On Tuesday's episode (September 1), the pair spoke to former Strictly star Giovanni Pernice and discussed the latest headlines. Christine took to Instagram to share a snap of herself in an outfit she wore during one episode, prompting many people to comment on the post.
One person said: "You should definitely do the morning show every morning." Another commented: "Loving you on this morning!"
Fans demand permanent role
On X, many viewers shared the same opinion. One wrote: "@thismorning Christine & Craig are hilarious together give them the show permanently #thismorning"
Another added: "Craig and Christine are perfect for #ThisMorning! She's very professional - understands when to be serious/fun and isn't OTT fun! She also reins him in!"
Another commented: "#thismorning Christine is fantastic, finally able to watch. Make her permanent, replace Deeley and Shephard, they are not watchable!!!"
Ben and Cat's return
At the start of the summer, This Morning shared the people who would be fronting the show in order. As it shows Christine and Craig last in the carousel of images, it heavily suggests that Ben and Cat are returning to their presenting roles from next week.
While they've been off-screen, the pair have been sharing glimpses into what they've been up to on social media. Cat has enjoyed some family time in Canada, while Ben appears to be back at work filming another programme. On Instagram, he reshared a story showing him in the Tipping Point studio.
The behind-the-scenes clip showed Ben in front of the iconic machine with two counters in his hand. As the camera panned around him, it looked as though the introduction to the programme was being filmed. He captioned the short clip: "Another day at the office."
It's not yet known when new episodes of the popular ITV game show will air. However, Lorraine and Loose Women are returning to screens very soon. The programmes have been off-air for a while, following ITV's schedule changes, which began at the start of the year. While they both used to air for 52 weeks of the year, their broadcast time had been cut to 30 weeks.
This Morning is available to watch on ITV weekdays from 10am.
