Music legend Sir Rod Stewart offered a glimpse into his close-knit family life this weekend, sharing a heartfelt moment with his two youngest sons before taking to the stage in South America.
A Proud Father's Backstage Moment
The 80-year-old rock icon was every inch the doting father on Sunday, posing for a fun Instagram snap with his teenage sons, Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14. The picture was taken backstage in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where Sir Rod had his arm affectionately wrapped around both boys.
Demonstrating the family's strong bond, the boys' mother and Rod's wife, Penny Lancaster, quickly commented on the post, gushing over 'my boys'. In the photograph, the Maggie May singer looked relaxed in an unbuttoned blue and white striped shirt, while his sons showcased their own style; Alastair in a plunging black shirt and gingham trousers, and Aiden in a casual black bomber jacket and oversized jeans.
Honours and Sold-Out Shows in Argentina
The family moment came amidst a hugely successful leg of Rod's One Last Time Tour. During his trip, the songwriter played three consecutive sold-out shows at the Movistar Arena, performing for 15,000 fans each night.
His impact on the city was formally recognised when he was named a Guest of Honour at the Parliamentary Assembly in the Eva Perón Hall. At the ceremony, Rod was presented with a certificate and an Argentina football kit bearing his name on the back.
'I've never received an award of this kind; it's a great honour. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,' Rod stated at the time. 'This is the country with the best soccer players in the world and the best fans of all.'
