Radiohead have been forced to postpone two shows in Copenhagen at the last minute after frontman Thom Yorke was diagnosed with an “extreme throat infection”. The affected concerts, scheduled for Monday December 1 and Tuesday December 2 at the Royal Arena, will now take place on December 15 and 16 respectively.
The band announced the news on Instagram, stating that Yorke’s condition made it “impossible for him to sing”. They expressed devastation at the short-notice postponement but remain hopeful that Yorke will recover in time for the remaining two Copenhagen shows on December 4 and 5, as well as four Berlin dates starting December 8.
Tickets for the postponed shows will be automatically transferred to the new dates, and fans seeking refunds are advised to contact their point of purchase. The latter two Copenhagen gigs and all Berlin performances are still scheduled to go ahead as planned.
The postponement comes after Radiohead completed four sold-out nights at London’s O2 Arena, where they set a new attendance record surpassing Metallica’s 2017 record. At those shows, £1 from each ticket sale was donated to the LIVE Trust, with additional collections for the Samaritans charity. Across the European tour, €1 from every ticket is being donated to Médecins Sans Frontières, with Radiohead matching the total raised.
Radiohead’s first O2 show received a five-star review from NME, with critic Andrew Trendell praising the band’s “visceral energy” and “generosity of spirit”. The tour marks Radiohead’s return to the stage in 2025.
