Oasis Tour Ends: New Album & UK Stadium Shows Planned

British rock legends Oasis brought their monumental 41-date reunion tour to an emotional close on Sunday night, performing their final bow before a roaring crowd of 60,000 devoted fans in São Paulo, Brazil.

What Comes Next For The Gallagher Brothers?

Almost immediately after the final chords faded, speculation began swirling about the future plans for brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. Behind-the-scenes conversations have already commenced, with multiple exciting proposals under serious consideration.

Industry insiders reveal that ideas being explored range from a new greatest hits album to potential stadium performances at Manchester's Etihad Stadium and a triumphant return to Knebworth, the iconic venue that hosted their legendary 1996 shows.

Previously Shelved Album Project Revived

The concept of a new compilation isn't entirely new. Noel Gallagher previously assembled a collection featuring post-2000 Oasis classics and B-sides, but the project was ultimately shelved after Liam rejected the idea.

In a 2023 interview, Noel reflected on the situation, stating: 'He wouldn't have it in the end, I don't know why.' According to recent reports, reviving that album is now one of several serious proposals being explored following the band's phenomenally successful comeback tour.

Tour Success Exceeds All Expectations

One insider revealed that the reunion tour had dramatically exceeded expectations and that both brothers plan to take substantial time off to properly absorb the scale of their achievement.

The source told The Sun: 'Noel and Liam will both be taking a long break to compute the magnitude of this tour. Being back together on stage has been incredible for both of them, and to have guitarist Bonehead back with them for the last shows has been nothing short of phenomenal.'

They added: 'They're aware of what their fans want and know the demand would be there if they did decide to put out a new greatest hits album, or to play more shows.'

Discussions about a possible Etihad residency for next summer have been circulating within music industry circles, alongside offers for major international festivals including Coachella and Benicàssim.

While no concrete plans have been formally agreed, the overwhelming success of the surprise reunion tour demonstrates there remains massive appetite for more Oasis content. The speed and success with which the comeback was organised suggests that virtually nothing is off the table for future projects.

Liam Gallagher Hints At Future Performances

Liam Gallagher has openly indicated his enthusiasm for maintaining the current momentum. Last week, he responded directly to a concerned fan who wrote: 'How am I meant to survive if there won't be another tour next year WE NEED MORE.'

Writing on X, Liam responded reassuringly: 'You will see me next year and the year after and so on just not sure yet if it'll be with Oasis, we need to sit down and discuss these things. If it was all up to me then you know we'd be touring till the day we die as it's the best thing in the world but UNFORTUNATELY it's not.'

The news about potential 2026 plans follows the band's emotional tribute during their Brazil performance to The Stone Roses star Gary 'Mani' Mounfield, who tragically died last Thursday aged 63.

During their performance of Live Forever, a photograph of Gary filled the entire screen behind the stage. Frontman Liam was visibly moved, looking back at the image and applauding as the song concluded. The tribute remained displayed until the band launched into Rock 'N' Roll Star.

Oasis were close friends with Gary, whose final public appearance had been alongside Liam at boxer Ricky Hatton's funeral on October 10.
