David Harbour Breaks Silence on Lily Allen's 'West End Girl' Album: 'It Wasn't My Experience'

David Harbour has spoken publicly for the first time about his ex-wife Lily Allen's revealing album West End Girl, which documents the breakdown of their marriage. The Stranger Things actor, who separated from Allen in early 2025 and later filed for divorce, addressed the album in a new interview with Variety.

Harbour described the experience as 'weird' but acknowledged Allen's right to create art from personal experience. 'I respect her for doing that,' he said. However, he emphasised his desire for privacy, adding: 'I just won't speak about that.' When asked if he wanted to counter any claims on the album, Harbour said: 'It wasn't my experience.'

Allen, who married Harbour in 2020, has described the album as 'a mixture of fact and fiction'. In an interview with Vogue, she said: 'It is inspired by what went on in the relationship.' The Guardian's Alexis Petridis called the album 'an act of unstoppable personal exorcism'.

Following the album's success, Allen has embarked on a concert tour and is in talks to create a play based on the songs. Meanwhile, Harbour denied reports of a feud with Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown, calling the rumours 'weird' and affirming their bond: 'I love her. She loves me.'
