Kelsey Parker has bravely revealed how she's helping her young children cope with the concept of death after the tragic loss of their father, Tom Parker, who passed away at the age of 33 following a battle with brain cancer.
The widow of The Wanted star shared her emotional journey of explaining mortality to their two children, Aurelia, 4, and Bodhi, 3, who were just toddlers when their father died in March 2022.
'They'll Never Be Without Me'
"My kids have had to deal with death at such a young age," Kelsey confessed in a recent interview. "I've told them I'll never leave them, but it's so hard to explain these concepts to little ones."
The 34-year-old mother described how she's created special rituals to help keep Tom's memory alive, including looking at photos together and talking about their late father regularly.
Honouring Tom's Legacy
Kelsey has been open about her grief journey since Tom's passing, using her platform to raise awareness about brain cancer and support other young families facing similar tragedies.
"Tom was so brave throughout his illness," she shared. "I want our children to grow up knowing how incredible their dad was and how much he loved them."
The Power of Honesty
The young widow emphasized the importance of being truthful with children about difficult topics: "I believe in being honest with them in an age-appropriate way. They know Daddy had poorly brain and the doctors couldn't make him better."
Kelsey's candid discussion about parenting through grief has resonated with many, offering comfort to others navigating similar heartbreaking circumstances.
