Travis Kelce Chooses Brazilian Wax Over Rewatching His 2016 Dating Show
Kelce: 'I'd rather get my gooch waxed' than watch Catching Kelce

As his highly anticipated wedding to global superstar Taylor Swift draws nearer, NFL tight end Travis Kelce is firmly focused on the future and has no desire to revisit an awkward chapter of his past.

The Ultimate Choice: Waxing vs. Rewatching

During the 'No Dumb Questions' segment of his New Heights podcast this week, Kelce faced a stark choice. He was asked whether he would prefer to be forced to watch his 2016 reality dating show, 'Catching Kelce', on a continuous loop forever, or undergo a full Brazilian wax like his brother Jason.

His response was immediate and emphatic. "I'd rather get Brazilian waxed. Are you kidding me? Yeah, I'd rather get my gooch waxed!" he declared. Brother Jason Kelce swiftly backed the decision, stating, "Yeah. Just rip it off. Easy decision!"

A Regrettable Reality TV Venture

The show in question, which aired on the E! network in 2016, featured 50 women from 50 different US states competing for the attention of the then-single Kansas City Chiefs player. Kelce has since expressed profound regret about participating, previously calling it "the worst thing I ever did" and referring to it dismissively as "the dating show".

He revealed on the 'Bussin' With The Boys' podcast that the experience was unhelpful, saying, "It didn't set me up for anything. I didn't realize what reality TV really was. I don't even think anybody watched it."

Financial Motives Behind the Embarrassment

Kelce's primary reason for signing up was financial necessity. In a 2023 interview with 'The Pivot', he confessed to mismanaging his early NFL earnings with the Chiefs. "I was so bad financially my first couple years," he admitted. "I literally went through my first couple checks like it was nothing... I was having so much fun, buying whatever the hell I wanted to."

When presented with an offer to make a six-figure sum in just two weeks from the show, his perspective changed. "I was like, 'This is actually starting to sound a little better'," he explained.

Looking Forward to a Swift Future

Today, Travis Kelce's life is unrecognisable from his 2016 reality TV stint. He is now one half of the world's most famous couple and is preparing to marry Taylor Swift in what is expected to be the wedding of the year.

The pair are reportedly set to tie the knot on June 13, 2026, at the luxurious Ocean House in Rhode Island, a location chosen for its proximity to Swift's property in the American north-east.
