Katie Price's Last-Minute Christmas No1 Bid with Charity Single
Katie Price releases Christmas song for charity

Reality TV star and former glamour model Katie Price has launched a surprise, last-ditch attempt to clinch the coveted UK Christmas number one spot, releasing a festive song with just over a week to go until the big day.

A Festive Track for a Vital Cause

The 47-year-old celebrity has collaborated with musician Chris Mhina on the new Christmas tune. All funds Price receives from the song will be donated to the Woman's Trust, a charity providing specialist counselling and mental health support for women recovering from domestic abuse.

In a statement on Instagram, where she showcased the finished music video, Price confirmed the charitable aim. She also revealed that co-producer Shaye will donate his share of proceeds to BBC Children in Need, supporting children and families across the UK.

Family Fun and Festive Spirit

The music video captures the festive mood, featuring Price's 22-year-old son, Harvey. The pair are seen singing and dancing together in front of a large Christmas tree. The lyrics promote seasonal cheer, with Price belting out lines like: "It's Christmas, it's a celebration... we're singing jingles all across the nation."

To promote the release, Price shared eye-catching images on social media, donning festive lingerie, fishnet tights, and a plunging mini-dress, captioning the posts to her followers.

A Crowded Race for the Top Spot

Price faces fierce competition in her quest for the Christmas chart crown. According to the Official Charts Company, Kylie Minogue is currently leading a tight three-way race with her track 'XMAS', which is approximately 7,000 units ahead of its nearest rival.

That rival is the perennial favourite, Wham!'s 'Last Christmas', which is attempting to secure the top spot for a third consecutive year. In third place is the charity single 'Lullaby' by Together For Palestine, a supergroup featuring artists like Leigh-Anne Pinnock of Little Mix and Dan Smith of Bastille.

Bookmakers Coral note that Kylie Minogue has been a strong mover in the betting, with many punters believing she could secure her first UK number one since 2003.

Mixed Reaction from Fans

The public response to Price's musical offering has been divided. While some supporters have praised its catchy nature, calling it the best festive tune in years, others have been more critical. One fan suggested the use of a voice tuner made the track sound "too muffled," advising Price to sing without it.

Whether the combination of festive cheer, a charitable message, and Price's dedicated fanbase will be enough to topple chart giants like Kylie and Wham! remains to be seen. The final Christmas number one for 2025 will be announced next week.
