Chart-topping singer Jess Glynne has reportedly ended her management deal with Roc Nation, the company founded by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. The split comes just three years after she signed with the high-profile firm and a mere 18 months after her departure from major record label EMI.
A Search for the Right Creative Team
According to reports from The Sun, the 36-year-old artist has now aligned herself with Craig Logan's Logan Media Entertainment for guidance. This move places her on a roster that includes major stars like Pink, Dido, Louise, and Beverley Knight. A music industry insider suggested the change was driven by Glynne's quest for a team that truly understands her artistic vision.
'Jess hasn't had the easiest situation in music,' the source revealed. 'She has found it hard to get a team behind her who she feels really gets who she is and what she is aiming for.' The insider added that with Logan and his firm, 'fresh ideas are coming through thick and fast.'
Career Challenges and Chart Performance
This management shift follows a difficult period for the singer, who has scored an impressive seven UK Number One singles in her career. Her first album in nearly six years, titled 'Jess', was released in April 2024. Despite a strong debut at Number 6 on the UK charts, the album fell out of the Top 40 entirely the following week.
Her partnership with EMI Records, which began with significant fanfare in 2022, was described as 'less than fruitful' after the album failed to produce any Top 40 singles. A source close to the situation explained: 'Jess knows plenty about having massive hit singles, so there was a lot of excitement when she signed her deal with EMI Records. But it's not exactly been the fruitful relationship that either had hoped.'
Both parties mutually agreed to end the recording contract. However, Glynne is said to be undeterred, already working on new material and planning her next steps.
Past Success and Personal Life
Glynne's previous albums—2015's 'I Cry When I Laugh' and 2018's 'Always In Between'—both reached the top of the UK charts and spawned multiple hit singles. Her career highlights include featuring on Clean Bandit's Grammy and Ivor Novello Award-winning track 'Rather Be' in 2015, as well as collaborations with Little Mix and Tinie Tempah.
On a personal note, the singer has been in a relationship with sports presenter Alex Scott for two years. Scott recently cut short her stay in Australia after appearing on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' to support Glynne, whose mother suffered a major stroke requiring brain surgery.
Despite recent professional upheavals, Jess Glynne appears focused on revitalising her music career with a new management team behind her.
