BBC Breakfast presenter Emma Vardy has joyfully announced the arrival of her second child, a son named Rocky Beau, with her husband Aaron Adams. The 44-year-old broadcaster shared the happy news on Wednesday, posting adorable photographs of the newborn on her Instagram account.
A Heartfelt Announcement on Social Media
Emma Vardy took to Instagram to reveal the birth of Rocky Beau, born on February 9, 2026. She captioned the update with emotional words, writing, 'Rocky Beau 09.02.26. Finally news of the most beautiful story I can report. Born in water. We are more in love than you can imagine.'
The presenter expressed immense gratitude towards the staff at the midwife-led Manchester Birth Centre at Wythenshawe, highlighting their support during the birthing process. She shared sweet images from her hospital bed, holding her baby boy, as well as moments capturing the family's journey home.
Gratitude for Midwives and Family Moments
Later that evening, Emma posted a video clip addressing her followers and thanking the midwives at Manchester Birth Centre. She said, 'I'm just so grateful to all the midwives who made this all possible with the way it went. And for listening to me and helping me make the right decisions.'
Emma described birth as unpredictable and acknowledged the scary decisions involved, but felt fortunate to have had amazing midwives who became 'angels' during the experience. In the video, she also shared a touching moment when her husband Aaron entered with a large bouquet of flowers, exclaiming, 'Look at this. Oh wow. I am a lucky girl.'
Family Life and Career Updates
Emma Vardy and Aaron Adams, who married in a ceremony at Lissanoure Castle in Northern Ireland in 2022, are also parents to another son, Jago Fionn, born in 2023. The couple's family has seen several relocations, moving to Hollywood for Emma's role as BBC's LA Correspondent after Jago's birth, before returning to England last year and settling in Manchester where Emma joined the BBC Breakfast team.
Emma bid a temporary farewell to BBC Breakfast viewers on February 1, announcing her maternity leave. At the end of the episode, she said, 'Right well, that's nearly it for us today. And my last show before mat leave! Bye!' Her co-presenter Roger Johnson wished her well, responding, 'Enjoy, good luck!' Emma assured viewers she would return, adding, 'I'll be back... see you.'
Previous Pregnancy Announcements and Family Joy
Back in October 2025, Emma first revealed on social media that she was expecting her second child, two years after welcoming Jago Fionn. At that time, she shared an adorable snap of the newborn on her chest in the hospital, captioning it, 'Presenting my best breaking news ever. Baby boy Jago Fionn is here At just a few hours old, playing a little camera shy.'
She also thanked the midwives and doctors at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital for their care. Emma and Aaron became engaged in 2021, and their wedding in Northern Ireland was described by Emma as 'utterly magical' on Instagram, with lavish sunshine, music, and laughter.
The family's journey continues with the addition of Rocky Beau, bringing more love and joy to their household. Emma's heartfelt posts and updates have resonated with fans, celebrating this new chapter in her life both personally and professionally.
