Eminem Surprises at Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Halftime Show

Detroit Lions fans at Ford Field got an unexpected treat during the annual Thanksgiving halftime show when Eminem joined headliner Jack White for a surprise performance. The Motor City-native rocker had been announced as the sole performer, but he brought out the rapper mid-medley to the delight of the crowd.

White opened his set with “That’s How I’m Feeling” from his 2024 album “No Name.” Eminem then emerged from beneath the stage, rapping over the White Stripes’ “Hello Operator” before delivering a rock-infused version of his own 2002 hit “’Till I Collapse.” White closed the show with “Seven Nation Army,” accompanied by Lions cheerleaders.

The collaboration comes weeks after the White Stripes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg were recently appointed executive producers of the Lions’ halftime show through 2027, with White being the first artist booked under the new deal.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Marshall and Paul,” said Lions president Rod Wood. “Their reputation will attract top-tier talent and help solidify this as one of the most anticipated cultural moments on the NFL calendar.” The Lions also hired Jesse Collins Entertainment to produce the performance.

Earlier, gospel singer Cece Winans performed the national anthem before the game against the Green Bay Packers.
