Delta Goodrem's Stylish Sydney Return After On-Stage Injury
Delta Goodrem's Sydney return after stage injury

Australian music sensation Delta Goodrem has been spotted making a stylish return to Sydney alongside her husband, Matthew Copley, following a recent performance where fans noticed an alarming injury.

Chic Airport Arrival

The 41-year-old artist was all smiles as she touched down in Sydney, looking effortlessly chic while strolling through the airport terminal. Goodrem waved happily to photographers as she navigated the arrivals hall with her suitcase in tow.

Delta cut a fashionable figure in a sophisticated black tailored blazer, which she layered over a classic polka-dot blouse. She paired this with comfortable, loose-fitting light-wash jeans perfect for travel.

Completing her airport ensemble were oversized amber-tinted sunglasses and striking white mesh heels, while her signature blonde waves fell neatly over her shoulders.

Her husband Matthew looked equally polished in a sharp black double-breasted blazer, simple white t-shirt and fitted trousers. The musician added dark sunglasses as the couple made their low-key return home together.

On-Stage Injury Revelation

Their arrival comes after concerned fans noticed a worrying detail during Delta's performance in Hobart earlier this month. The singer took to the stage at Wrest Point on November 9 - which also marked her 41st birthday - and was seen performing with a bandage wrapped around her left hand.

In footage later shared to Instagram, Delta addressed the crowd with her characteristic good humour about the situation. "I'm sure it'll be fine for tonight," she told the audience, before adding, "I'm going to be playing the piano with my thumb and my five fingers over here," while gesturing to her right hand.

Demonstrating her professional dedication, she eventually removed the bandage mid-show to what she called 'unlock maximum piano mode' for her delighted audience.

An additional Instagram Story later confirmed the injury was caused by a kettle burn, though the incident didn't slow the determined songstress down during her performance.

Newlywed Bliss Continues

The couple have been basking in newlywed bliss after exchanging vows in a lavish ceremony five months ago. In June, Delta and Matthew married in a beautiful Maltese celebration, exchanging vows at the historic St Paul's Cathedral in Mdina before moving festivities to the opulent Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar.

Delta previously revealed to the Herald Sun that she had no intention of singing at her own wedding ceremony. "I had no intention of singing," she explained. "We are blessed to get to do what we love on stage and sharing that is the best ever, so I didn't feel the need to do that at the wedding."

She added thoughtfully: "All my family and friends, I ask them to come to shows all the time, they don't need that for my wedding."

In July, the couple shared a breathtaking first look at their special day through a Vogue Australia spread photographed by Matt Porteous and Becky Lee. Delta stunned in an off-the-shoulder couture gown by South Australian designer Paul Vasileff, featuring French tulle, intricate lattice detailing and a dramatic two-and-a-half metre train.

She completed her bridal look with sparkling diamonds from ANTON Jewellery, creating a truly magical appearance.

Reflecting emotionally on Instagram at the time, Delta wrote: "June 2025, Husband and Wife. It was more magical than we both could have dreamed. We said I do under the Maltese skies in a family fairytale wedding brought to life by so many angels surrounding us. We are holding on to every memory from that moment - the love, the laughter, the happy tears and dancing till the sun came up."
