Cher's Netflix Series: £13m Deal for 7-Episode Life Story in 2026
Cher's Netflix series: £13m deal for life story

Music and entertainment icon Cher is reportedly in the advanced stages of negotiating a major deal with Netflix for a documentary series chronicling her extraordinary life and career.

The Netflix Project: Sharing Her Story

According to sources speaking to The Sun, the 79-year-old superstar is close to finalising an agreement for a seven-episode series tentatively titled 'Sharing Her Story'.

Each episode is planned to run for one hour, delving into the many highs and lows of her six-decade-long career in the spotlight. The project is said to be valued at an impressive £13 million.

An insider revealed that talks have been ongoing for months and are now 'as good as done'. The series is tentatively scheduled to premiere on the streaming giant in 2026.

Syncing with Her Literary Memoir

The Netflix series is planned for release in conjunction with the second instalment of Cher's memoir. The first part of her literary autobiography was published in November 2024.

In her memoir, Cher offers a candid look at her life, including her tumultuous marriage to the late Sonny Bono from 1969 to 1975. She details feeling trapped and alleges he 'manhandled' her and that she once 'seriously thought about' killing him.

The pop duo Sonny & Cher rose to fame in the 1960s and later hosted their own successful variety show. They share a son, Chaz Bono.

Cher's second marriage was to Gregg Allman in 1975, with whom she had her second son, Elijah Blue Allman, in 1976. The musician has faced public struggles with addiction and was hospitalised for a drug overdose in the summer of 2024.

A Colourful Life On and Off Screen

Cher's personal life continues to capture headlines, most recently for her relationship with music executive Alexander 'AE' Edwards, who is 40 years her junior.

Speaking on CBS Mornings earlier this month, the singer gushed about her 39-year-old beau, saying, 'We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him.' She dismissed critics of the age gap with a simple, 'Whatever.'

Fans won't have to wait until 2026 for their next Cher fix. The living legend is scheduled to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on December 20, 2024.
