Charli XCX & Kylie Jenner Promote Mockumentary in Bikinis

Pop sensation Charli XCX and reality TV star Kylie Jenner set pulses racing this weekend with a sizzling promotional post for their upcoming film project. The duo shared images to Instagram on Sunday, posing in matching skimpy black bikinis while draped in white robes by a poolside.

Poolside Glamour and Cinema Antics

The British singer, 33, and the 28-year-old influencer and billionaire accessorised their looks for the shoot. Charli XCX opted for a pair of large tinted black sunglasses, while Jenner held a classic black-and-white clapperboard, nodding to the cinematic theme. Charli shared the joint post to her Instagram Story with a provocative caption that has since become a talking point: 'The second people are getting sick of you, that's when you have to go even harder'.

In a separate, cheeky snap posted to her social media, Charli XCX was seen bending over in a cinema aisle, accidentally exposing her underwear beneath a pair of flared blue jeans. For this casual outing, she paired the jeans with red heels and a loose-fitting T-shirt.

Inside 'The Moment' Mockumentary

The glamorous photos serve to promote their new movie, 'The Moment', a scripted mockumentary set for release in select New York and Los Angeles theatres on January 30. Kylie Jenner plays a version of herself in the film, offering commentary on the nature of fame.

Jenner promoted the film on her own feed, writing: 'The moment!!! can’t wait to see u at the movies xx la and ny tickets on sale now <3 @themoment.' The official synopsis reveals the film follows a pop star in the lead-up to her first headline arena tour, providing an inside look at the music industry and exploring how subculture is mutated by commercial success.

The 'Brat Summer' Phenomenon

'The Moment' trails Charli XCX's own journey before her first headline tour, blurring lines between her personal and public life. The film uses scripted scenes to show how niche cultural movements are transformed by mainstream appeal, with record executives scheming to make 'brat summer last forever'.

The term 'Brat', which Charli's recent album propelled into the lexicon, was redefined by dictionaries as characterising a 'confident, independent, and hedonistic attitude', becoming the aesthetic movement of the summer. In the trailer released in December, Charli pokes fun at the very concept, asking: 'Don’t you just think the whole, like, "keep having a Brat Summer!" thing is a bit cringe?'

The trailer blends concert footage with satirical scripted scenes featuring cameos from actors Alexander Skarsgård and Rachel Sennott. It depicts Charli grappling with the pressures of fame, exclaiming: 'Everyone’s so desperate for me to be f***ing innovative all the time - and f***ing cool!' Jenner's voiceover then delivers the now-signature line about pushing harder when public fatigue sets in.
