Bam Margera Returns to Jackass Franchise for Final Film

Bam Margera has made a surprise return to the Jackass franchise for the final film, Jackass: Best and Last, years after being fired from Jackass Forever. The film, which relies heavily on archival footage, marks the end of the series.

Margera was dismissed from Jackass Forever mid-production for violating a 'wellness agreement' related to his substance abuse issues, after allegedly testing positive for Adderall. He subsequently sued Johnny Knoxville and co-creator Jeff Tremaine, claiming his civil rights were violated.

In a 2025 interview with Cinemablend, Margera expressed bitterness: 'What they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie... You couldn't offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them. The damage has been done.' The feud escalated to the point where Margera challenged Knoxville to a bare-knuckle boxing match on Instagram.

Knoxville, speaking to Howie Mandel in 2024, said he had not spoken to Margera since the firing but wished him well: 'I love Bam, I wish him well... I think he's sober now, for a little bit, and I hope that continues.' In a later interview with Rolling Stone, Knoxville added: 'I hear he's doing a lot better and that makes me happy.'

Margera confirmed to TMZ that he struck a deal to appear via archival footage, but has not fully reconciled. 'If you had a laundry list of the chain of horrible events... I have a lot of PTSD from it all,' he said. 'They said we're going to sift through a lot of old footage to try to create something new and I said, 'Hell yeah, go for it'.'
