In an extraordinary turn of events, veteran American rock band Aerosmith have clinched their first-ever UK number one album, more than five decades after their debut. The historic feat was achieved with their collaborative record, One More Time, created alongside British pop-rock star Yungblud.
A Landmark Chart Achievement
The Official Charts Company confirmed the album's ascent to the top spot, marking a monumental moment for the Steven Tyler-fronted group. This success arrives over 50 years after their self-titled debut album and 38 years since they first appeared on the UK albums chart with their ninth LP, Permanent Vacation.
Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, was effusive in his reaction to the news. He described the achievement as the "cherry on top of a fucking crazy, emotional rollercoaster of a year." He expressed immense gratitude, calling it his second official number one album of 2025 and thanking Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry for the collaboration.
Yungblud's Chart Dominance and Legacy
This collaborative victory represents Yungblud's second chart-topping album of the year, following his earlier success with Idols, and his fourth UK number one overall. The record didn't just top the main albums chart; it also dominated the UK vinyl albums chart and the UK record store chart, underscoring a significant demand for physical copies.
This latest triumph adds to an already impressive year for the British artist, who recently became the first from the UK to receive three Grammy nominations in the rock categories.
Other Notable Chart Movements
Elsewhere in the charts, the music world saw a poignant resurgence for The Stone Roses. Following the recent passing of their bassist, Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, both their self-titled debut and the compilation The Very Best Of The Stone Roses re-entered the top 40.
The rest of the albums chart top five was populated by a mix of established and rising stars:
- Olivia Dean’s The Art Of Loving at number two.
- Taylor Swift’s The Life Of A Showgirl at three.
- Tate McRae’s So Close To What at four.
- Olly Murs’ Knees Up at number five.
Over on the UK singles chart, the enigmatic rapper EsDeeKid secured his first top 10 hit with Century, while Taylor Swift held the number one position for a sixth non-consecutive week with The Fate Of Ophelia.
