Konami has confirmed that it is already working on future Silent Hill games, as it aims to release a new entry every year. The latest title, Silent Hill: Townfall, continues the franchise's recent comeback, following the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 and last year's Silent Hill f.
Next remake lined up
After Townfall, the next game in the series is a remake of the 1999 original PlayStation title, developed by Bloober Team, which is expected to launch next year. Konami has not detailed any plans beyond that remake, but series producer Motoi Okamoto has confirmed that more projects are in development.
Speaking to Famitsu, via Game Observer, Okamoto reflected on the titles announced during the Silent Hill Transmission in 2022, all of which have now been released. 'All three titles we initially announced were able to be released successfully, so we're relieved (laughs),' he said. 'They've also received high praise, and we are satisfied with it.'
Second and third waves
Okamoto added: 'Successfully launching this 'first wave' comes with great relief, but we're not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves. We can't share specific details, but we're currently looking at a number of projects.'
It is unclear what these projects could be, but given the positive reception to Silent Hill f, developer NeoBards Entertainment may be offered another entry. Konami has collaborated with various studios worldwide, giving the 'first wave' of games different settings, from Japanese to Scottish locations.
Along with the next Silent Hill remake, Bloober Team is developing a horror title exclusively for the Switch 2, titled Onyx: The Dark Grip.
