Thousands of music fans descended on Heaton Park for the second day of Parklife 2026, where Swedish pop star Zara Larsson and DJ Calvin Harris were among the headliners. The festival, held on June 21, saw a vibrant display of fashion, with many attendees taking style cues from Larsson's latest album, Midnight Sun.
Zara Larsson's Influence on Festival Fashion
According to fashion observers, Larsson's aesthetic dominated the crowd. 'Pop maximalism at its finest,' noted one style commentator. 'Festival-goers have gone crazy for her Midnight Sun aesthetic – a mix of Y2K elements and tropical beach.' Bold pinks, blues, and yellows were everywhere, often elevated with ruffles, glitter, and sequins. Some outfits even featured mermaid motifs, shells, and dolphins, adding an aquatic touch.
Larsson, known for hits like Lush Life and Midnight Sun, performed on the summer solstice, which may have inspired the sunny, vibrant looks. 'The pop girlies know that Sunday is all about Zara Larsson,' said a festival attendee. 'It's only right that we've got plenty of looks inspired by her.'
Streetwear and Football Shirts Make a Statement
While Larsson-inspired outfits were popular, streetwear also made a strong showing on Sunday. 'Streetwear really infiltrated Sunday's style,' reported a fashion journalist. Additionally, the football trend from the previous day, nodding to the World Cup, remained well represented, with a wide range of football shirts seen across Heaton Park.
Day one had featured acts like Aitch, Bou, Morgan Seatree, Josh Baker, Skepta, and Sammy Virji, and many fans carried over the streetwear and sporty looks into day two. Cowboy boots were also a common sight, signaling country music's influence on festival fashion, though cowboy hats were less popular than in previous years.
Gallery of Best Dressed
A gallery of 26 images captured the best-dressed festival-goers at Parklife 2026, showcasing the diversity of styles. From low-rise chunky belts and ruffled skorts to off-shoulder bejewelled shawls and bandanas, the fashion was eclectic and vibrant. Many attendees also opted for cowboy boots, a trend that has persisted across multiple festival seasons.
Photographer Kenny Brown of the Manchester Evening News documented the looks, highlighting the creativity and energy of the crowd. The gallery includes shots from various stages and areas, including Magic Sky, Panorama, G-Stage, and The Valley.
