GTA 6: O2 monthly payment plan cuts upfront cost

GTA 6 arrives on consoles on Thursday November 19, and O2 has launched a deal that lets gamers buy the blockbuster title on a monthly payment plan, avoiding the large upfront cost.

The Standard Edition is priced at £69.99 on Xbox and PlayStation, while the Ultimate Edition with bonus content costs £89.99. Under the O2 deal, gamers can pre-order GTA 6 for £20 upfront, followed by 36 monthly payments of £1.39. This works out at roughly 4.6 pence per day.

How the O2 GTA 6 deal works

The offer is available to non-O2 customers as well, but they must be 18 or over due to the title's age restrictions. O2 has confirmed that the payments are based on a 0 percent plan, with no extra fees.

The total price of the deal is £70.04, which is just a few pence more than buying the game directly.

What O2 says about the offer

"With anticipation reaching fever pitch for Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most talked-about entertainment releases of the decade, O2 is helping fans secure their copy for under 5p a day," O2 explained.

"Whether players are counting down the days until they return to Vice City, planning launch-day gaming sessions with friends, or simply looking to be part of gaming’s biggest cultural moment, O2 is making it easier than ever to get launch-ready, without the large upfront expense."

GTA 6 pre-sales and setting

GTA 6 looks set to break all records, with estimates suggesting over 4.5 million copies have already been sold ahead of the official launch.

The title, which succeeds GTA 5, promises a huge open world packed with the usual crime, chaos and plenty of action. Set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, the game returns to Vice City, where players can explore a sprawling environment filled with missions, characters and criminal adventures. It follows the dual protagonists, Lucia and Jason, as they navigate a dangerous underworld. Expectations are sky-high, with fans hoping GTA 6 will redefine open-world gaming when it launches.
