Bents Garden Centre launches Christmas displays ahead of 90th birthday

Bents Garden and Homes on Warrington Road in Warrington has launched its Christmas displays for the 2026 winter season. The annual event began this week, with Mayor of Warrington and Councillor Sagheer Zaman attending the opening on October 7.

Festive attractions and family history

The garden centre and home store has offered Yuletide activities for decades, becoming a prominent attraction during the festive season. A spokesperson said: "This year’s displays bringing together a mix of festive inspiration, creativity and plenty of surprises."

Weeks of planning and design went into the displays by Bents' in-house team, with customers given the first opportunity to experience an extra special Christmas as the centre prepares to mark its 90th birthday in 2027.

Team pride and upcoming events

Mathew Bent, third generation of his family to run the centre, said: "This Christmas is particularly special for us as we look ahead to our 90th anniversary next year. We’re incredibly proud of our family history and of how Bents has evolved over the years, but what makes me most proud is the team we have today and the creativity, passion and care they put into Christmas."

He added: "There’s something very special about the moment we officially unveil our displays. So much work goes on behind the scenes to create the experience and after months of planning and preparation, it’s great to finally see customers enjoying it."

Another experience launches in November. 'The Magic Lamp in the Hidden Garden' is Bents' second Winter light trail, allowing customers to "make a wish" as they explore the Hidden Garden, featuring dazzling lights, theatrical scenes, magical projections and colourful characters in an Aladdin-inspired story.

The popular winter food market is open to all, offering a wide range of festive themed foods. Other Yuletide activities include Father Christmas' Arrival Parade on Wednesday, November 4, festive workshops and family events. The festive side of the centre was initially run by Wendy Bent, wife of Roy, the second generation of Bents to run the business.
