David Harbour Lands Major Film Role Amid Lily Allen Divorce Drama
David Harbour's New Movie After Lily Allen Split

David Harbour appears to be channelling his energy into a significant new career move, securing a prominent role in an upcoming true crime thriller, following the very public dissolution of his marriage to singer Lily Allen.

Moving On To The Big Screen

The 50-year-old actor, recently busy promoting the final series of the sci-fi horror hit Stranger Things, is set to star in Evil Genius, a film inspired by the infamous 2018 Netflix documentary series of the same name. He will be joining an acclaimed cast that includes award-winning actress Patricia Arquette.

Adding to the project's prestige, Courteney Cox, famed for her role in Friends, is taking the director's chair for the film. The cast is further bolstered by Michael Cernus, Danielle Macdonald, Garrett Dillahunt, Tom McCarthy, and Gregory Alan Williams, with Owen Teague, Ryan Eggold, and Harlow Jane completing the lineup.

A Story Stranger Than Fiction

The film delves into the bizarre and chilling 'pizza bomber' case, following the story of pizza delivery driver Brian Wells, who was forced to rob a bank with a bomb secured around his neck. The official synopsis describes it as a 'baffling true-crime story' that 'starts with the grisly death of a pizza man... and gets weirder from there.'

In a statement, director Courteney Cox expressed her captivation with the source material, saying, 'I've been fascinated by Evil Genius since I first saw the documentary. It's stranger than fiction. At moments darkly funny and yet deeply emotional.' She described the project as a story about 'love, loneliness, manipulation, and the people on the fringes.'

Professional High Amid Personal Turmoil

This exciting career development comes as Harbour navigates the fallout from his split from Lily Allen. Last month, the 40-year-old singer released her album West End Girl, which has been widely interpreted as a 'revenge' album detailing the breakdown of their four-year marriage.

Tracks like Madeline and Tennis contain pointed lyrics that seem to accuse Harbour of infidelity, with one line stating, 'I can't trust anything that comes out of his mouth.' The album, her first in seven years, was recorded in just ten days following their separation last December.

In a recent interview with Esquire Spain conducted before the album's release, Harbour reflected on turning 50 and his personal journey. When asked if he had any regrets, he responded, 'You either accept your path completely and realise that even the pain and the slip-ups and the mistakes are all part of the journey.' He added that changing anything might mean he 'wasn't an artist anymore,' which he felt would 'suck.'

Representatives for David Harbour have been contacted by the Daily Mail for comment regarding the new film and the personal allegations.
