Woman Who Died Says She Has Paranormal Powers After Afterlife

Louisa Peck, a 65-year-old woman from Nehalem, Oregon, claims that after dying for three minutes in a nightclub in 1982, she returned with paranormal abilities, including the power to predict deaths and see ghosts. She describes her near-death experience (NDE) as a journey to an afterlife where she met ancestors and felt a divine love, but was told by a voice that she was not done yet.

The Night of the Incident

At age 22, Louisa unknowingly consumed cocaine cut with lidocaine, an anesthetic, which triggered a cardiac arrest and a grand mal seizure in a nightclub. She lost consciousness and describes being “shot up into the sky like a character punched by Popeye,” emerging in a new land where her body slipped away, allowing her to fly and meet her ancestors. She recalls soaring over Manhattan, diving into the ocean, and swimming to shore effortlessly before entering a pale blue house she felt connected to her ancestors.

Encounter with Divine Light

Inside the house, Louisa sensed her ancestors’ joy and then felt herself flying across the ocean again. A voice answered her inner question about the reality of the experience, saying, “More real than anything back there.” She then approached the sun, passing through it into a light that felt like “divine love,” where she experienced bliss without time. However, the voice called her back, stating, “You can’t stay, you’re not done yet.” She regained consciousness to find a bartender performing CPR; she had been unresponsive for three minutes.

Struggle to Return to Normal Life

Louisa, who describes herself as a former “high-functioning alcoholic” and “avid materialist atheist,” tried to dismiss the experience. She left the club by taxi before the ambulance arrived. However, five years later in 1987, she encountered a ghost on a beach—an old man emerging from a swamp who vanished without a trace. In 1993, she accurately predicted the death of her unborn nephew. In 1994, while battling severe alcoholism, she attempted to drive drunk and heard the same voice shout, “This is the last time I can help you. And you do know right from wrong!” She then got sober.

Continued Paranormal Experiences

In 1997, while with her terminally ill sister, the voice urged Louisa to “tell her about the light” as she was “having trouble crossing.” Louisa spoke softly about the light, and 20 minutes later her sister hemorrhaged and died. Louisa sensed her sister’s spirit hovering, filling her with light and giving instructions for her two-year-old child. Over the years, Louisa has experienced knowing strangers’ names before being told, viewing friends’ memories, and communicating with deceased loved ones and her guardian angel, which appears as an orb in photographs.

Beliefs and Book

Louisa now believes that “intelligence and love are one” and that terrestrial life is a brief experience. She states, “I still consider religion distorted by an amalgamation of human foibles – it’s like a pre-schooler’s clay model of profound and complex truths.” She has written a book about her experiences titled ‘Die-Hard Atheist: from NDE Denier to Full-on Woo-Woo’.
