Vogue Williams Exposes 'Rude' Television Celebrity for Early Career Snub

Vogue Williams has candidly shared a disheartening encounter with a 'rude' celebrity who she claims 'completely ignored' her during her early modelling days. The 40-year-old media personality, who first gained fame on the Irish television show Fade Street, detailed the incident on her podcast, Vogue and Amber, sparking discussions about elitism in the entertainment industry.

A Shared Experience of Disrespect

The revelation came after Vogue's older sister, Amber Wilson, recounted a similar experience with the same celebrity. Amber described how this television figure was 'very rude' to her while she was 'flyering' on the streets of Dublin. Vogue echoed this sentiment, recalling her own encounter when she was working as a model.

'I used to do modelling and I was on a modelling job and we were together in a really small space, it was basically like a little bathroom, and I was like, 'Hi', and they completely ignored me in that little space,' Vogue explained. She expressed her disbelief, noting, 'I thought, 'Oh my God,' like just say hi. It was the two of us in the room and they completely ignored me because they thought they were better than me.'

Shifting Attitudes with Career Success

Vogue highlighted a stark change in the celebrity's behaviour as her own career trajectory soared. 'When I started working a lot more in the industry, they started being nice,' she remarked, criticising the selective nature of such interactions. 'You don't choose who you are nice to depending on where they are on that ladder,' she asserted, underscoring a principle of basic respect regardless of professional status.

Since her early days on Fade Street, which followed young Dubliners navigating work and relationships akin to The Hills, Vogue has built a diverse portfolio. She appeared on the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars and won Bear Grylls: Mission Survive in 2015. Today, she regularly hosts on ITV's Lorraine and co-presents the popular podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me with close friend Joanne McNally.

Current Projects and Future Plans

Vogue's career continues to flourish, with recent speculation linking her to the second series of Celebrity Traitors. The show, set in the Scottish Highlands, involves contestants identifying traitors among them, with the fourth series won by Stephen Libby and Rachel Duffy, who split a £95,750 prize fund. The first celebrity edition was won by comedian Alan Carr.

However, Vogue has indicated a potential break from reality television. 'I'm not going to do any of those shows for a little while, I feel like between Gladiators and I'm A Celebrity..., I'll have nothing left to do!' she told RSVP Magazine. While praising The Traitors as a 'great show', she added, 'But I've done a lot of those kinds of shows now, so not in 2026.'

Fans can still catch Vogue on screen, as she is set to appear on Richard Osman's House of Games on BBC Two, alongside Ahir Shah, Michaela Strachan, and Dr Alexander van Tulleken. This return underscores her versatility and enduring presence in the media landscape, despite past encounters with industry rudeness.
