Vanity Fair has come under scrutiny after editing a video featuring 'Saturday Night Live' star Chloe Fineman, in which she recounted an incident from her teenage years working at a summer camp. The video, originally titled 'SNL Cast Test How Well They Know Each Other,' showed Fineman telling her co-stars that she was fired as a camp counselor after pulling down the trousers of a six-year-old boy.
In the original version, Fineman detailed that the boy had repeatedly lifted her shirt without consent, prompting her to retaliate by yanking his trousers down during a hike. She noted that the boy was not wearing underpants, and a school bus drove past. Her co-star Ashley Padilla remarked, 'Oh, honey, I think you’re on a list somewhere.' The cast members were seen gasping and covering their faces in shock.
The edited version removed references to the boy's age, the lack of underpants, and Padilla's comment. Vanity Fair has not commented on the edits, which were first noticed by social media users. The magazine has been contacted for comment.
