TRNSMT Final Day: Lewis Capaldi Headlines in Sunshine

TRNSMT 2026 concluded on Sunday with a sold-out crowd of 50,000 basking in sweltering sunshine at Glasgow Green, as Lewis Capaldi took the stage as the headline act to close the festival in style.

After Friday's rain and a mixed-weather Saturday featuring Richard Ashcroft and Kasabian, revellers arrived for the final day determined to make the most of the heat. Bucket hats, sunglasses, and suncream were the order of the day as festivalgoers soaked up the atmosphere for one last day of music, food, and partying.

Lewis Capaldi Headlines Final Night

Lewis Capaldi, a TRNSMT regular who once famously performed in a Chewbacca mask during his feud with Noel Gallagher, was the main attraction. Crowds waited all day for his arrival, with many attendees citing him as their primary reason for attending.

Before Capaldi, Amy Macdonald performed, building momentum. Earlier in the day, Macdonald told the Daily Record that Capaldi had supported her at earlier gigs, making the role reversal at TRNSMT a happy occasion.

Perrie Edwards Delivers Energetic Set

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards proved to be a major draw, performing tracks including "Shout Out To My Ex" and a special tribute to her new husband, Celtic player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whom she married in Portugal just a week earlier. She told the crowd she met a man she was totally 'obsessed' with before singing "Cute Aggression." Greeted with chants of 'No Scotland, No Party,' Edwards, who has become a local in recent months, said: "This is what I love about Scotland. You're so f***ing rowdy." She also paraded backstage in her husband's famous Hoops shirt underneath a lacy black corset.

Sunday Lineup and Atmosphere

The Sunday lineup included CMAT, Two Door Cinema Club, Billy Reekie, Overpass, and Red Rum Club. The merchandise reflected the sunny mood, with bags, T-shirts, and hats decorated with a playful horticultural theme.

Festivalgoers shared their experiences. Connor Shraenan, 32, a scrap man from Glasgow with his wife Kayleigh, 33, said: "I don't think you can beat Glasgow in the sun. We're just here for the night. And we're here for the comedy of Lewis Capaldi. I think he'll be funny." Kayleigh, an A&E nurse, wore factor 50 sun cream due to the conditions. She added: "This brings everyone together. We have two kids and my daughter is actually in New York right now. We've seen Perrie, who was great, but we are here for Capaldi."

Sophie Kennen, 18, from Renfrew, and her pal Brooke Ramsay, 16, were enjoying the sunshine but found it a bit hot. Sophie said: "We've been trying to keep hydrated. We are here for Lewis Capaldi." Brooke, a care worker from Dundee, added: "We tried a battered Twix for free too which was interesting. It's our first TRNSMT but we'd come back."

Aerin McNeil, 24, and his brother Reece, 28, were enjoying the weather and music. Aerin, a delivery driver from Paisley, added: "We're hating the drink prices but hey ho. We've been at the boogie bit too." Reece, a window cleaner, said: "We're just here today because we couldn't afford to come all weekend. We've just been to Bongo's Bingo with a drag queen and people in cow costumes and it was a good laugh. We never experienced it all before."

Sisters Leigh Anne Francey, 43, from Edinburgh, and Laura Adams, 34, from Glasgow, let their hair down. Leigh-Anne, who runs a care company, said: "We're just here today. And it's all for Lewis. Obviously I would have come all weekend if I could, but I had to care for all the elderly people." The sisters spent their day in the Budweiser enclosure, with Leigh Anne adding: "We have stood up at the Budweiser stage at the front, giving it laldy."

Food and Festival Fare

Ice lollies were passed around in the heat, while queues formed for chips, cheese, salt and chilli chicken, pizza, and fish and chips. The festival fare helped keep everyone fuelled as the crowds settled in for the long haul.

Weekend Highlights

On Friday, Richard Ashcroft delivered one of the standout sets before the Scotland-Morocco match. Behind the scenes, Paolo Nutini slipped into the festival under a Scotland bucket hat, enjoying the VIP area. He sampled strawberry daiquiris and thanked a male vendor with a kiss on the cheek. On Saturday, The Snuts enjoyed fish and frites backstage as the weather cleared for Kasabian's set.
