Coronation Street legend Julie Hesmondhalgh has clarified her comments about a fellow Celebrity Traitors contestant, insisting she has not revealed any spoilers. The actress, known for playing Hayley Cropper, was eliminated from the BBC show and has since spoken about her experience.
Praise for Leigh-Anne Pinnock
The 56-year-old heaped praise on Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, suggesting she will do well on the series. Julie said: "Leigh is gorgeous. I think she’ll come into her own actually. You know she was pregnant when we were filming it as well, I couldn’t believe it when I heard that afterwards."
She added: "I mean I was tired. None of us knew. How she did it I have no idea," before saying: "I think Leigh-Anne might go quite a long way actually."
Clarifying the Comments
The soap star was quick to clarify her remarks, stating: "That’s not inside info, that’s purely off vibes. That’s me as a viewer, I’m here as a fan."
The second series of The Celebrity Traitors was filmed in the spring. Leigh-Anne, 34, is expecting her third child with footballer husband Andre Gray. She was pregnant during filming in the Scottish Highlands but kept the news a secret from her co-stars and production.
Keeping the Pregnancy Secret
A source told Daily Mail: "Leigh-Anne was three months pregnant while filming Celebrity Traitors. She decided to keep it a secret. Production didn’t know, and she didn’t announce the news while in Scotland."
Leigh-Anne said of her time on the show: "Everyone’s super excited really. I think it’s just that everyone loves the show. It’s just so big and it’s crazy. I’m feeling so grateful to be a part of it."
