NFL legend Tom Brady slapped WWE wrestler Logan Paul in a strange exchange at Fanatics Fest, a sports and pop culture event in San Diego, on Saturday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion, 48, came face-to-face with Paul, 31, and after some cross words, Brady slapped Paul across the right side of his face. New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns intervened, appearing surprised by the confrontation.
Social Media Reactions
Brady took to social media, sharing a video of the incident with the caption: “Dork.” Paul reacted, saying: “This happened because I was roasting Tom for beating him in flag football. And he tries to smack me?? Horrible example for the kids. Aura – 100 + blocked. With a torn tricep.”
Background of the Feud
The Brady-Paul feud has been escalating for months. In March, Brady took a swipe at Paul's football skills, saying: “Logan pulled out of a lot of fights this week. You scored 19 TDs (touchdowns) in high school. No one cares.” The “fights” Brady referred to were speculated bouts between Paul and All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell and Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett. Earlier this year, Paul lost his temper when Brady lobbed a ball at him during a flag football game.
Brady's WWE Interest
The slap occurred less than 48 hours after Brady expressed interest in joining the WWE. On Cody Rhodes' show, Brady said: “I need to get an invite. I've been waiting for [WWE president] Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix. I feel like I'm retired from football, and I have an opportunity to go out there and still showcase that I'm a little bit of an athlete.”
Paul's WWE Career and Injury
Paul made his WWE debut in 2021 and has become one of the biggest names in the business. He has been sidelined since May due to a torn tricep sustained during a match at Saturday Night's Main Event XLIV, requiring surgery and expected to keep him out for up to six months.
